| Dyadic Therapy is a therapeutic model which is gaining momentum. By joining children in therapy, parents are able to enter their child's world. Mutual understanding between parents and children, parental empowerment and the furthering of emotional and social development of the children are only some of the achievements. Next year, we plan to increase the number of hours of Dyadic Therapy at our Center. |

| A 10 year old boy was referred for treatment for Selective Mutism. He started treatment with a speech therapist, who after a few sessions, suggested emotional therapy. An expressive therapist started working with him and made contact with his teacher and school principal, in an effort to co-operate together in the treatment process. The parents were invited to meet with the therapist, but refused. After a few treatment sessions, during which time the therapist worked hand in hand with the school staff, it became apparent that the child is a victim of abuse by his father. The case was reported to the authorities, and the child continues treatment at our Center. |

| We recently started a new process where a family therapist provides counseling for families within the arena of the home. Issues that don't usually surface in regular therapy sessions can, in this way, be addressed.
The help offered is concrete and based on the "here and now". Parents are empowered and children are helped within the family framework. |
